Depression

Depressive disorders are characterized by the presence of an empty, irritable, or sad mood, often accompanied by physical and cognitive changes that significantly interfere with daily functioning. Differing depressive disorders are marked by duration, timing, and etiology. Often, fatigue and insomnia are associated experiences of depression. An individual may also experience a lack of interest or pleasure in hobbies they previously enjoyed. Appetite changes are also common, as well as somatic complaints such as body aches and pains.
