How do I find the right therapist/clinician for me or a loved one?

First, we encourage you to ask others for recommendations. You may want to reach out to others you know and trust who have received therapy, teachers, guidance counselors, pediatricians, physicians, and/or utilize social media groups such as Facebook. It is recommended you also review online bios that describe the clinician’s education, training, and specialty areas. It is recommended you seek someone who is a good fit based on your needs. Therapeutic alliance, or the therapeutic relationship between the client and the treating physician that allows a trusting relationship to work effectively together, has been shown to be very important in treatment outcomes. As a result, it is important you find a provider that you feel comfortable with to help you accomplish your goals.
